Your First Visit

Your first visit to Wilmington Orthodontics will allow us to get to know you and determine what your main concerns are. We will ease any apprehension you may have by providing thorough explanations of procedures before we begin. Each member of our team is very knowledgeable and we encourage you to ask questions if you have any concerns. We firmly believe that patients feel more comfortable when they know what to expect and are well informed of a procedure before it occurs. We try to avoid any unexpected surprises and let each patient know everything we are going to do, before we do it.

Upon arriving at Wilmington Orthodontics you will be greeted by our front office team and given a tour of the office. Please remember to bring your current Insurance Card and completed Health History Form. Initial paperwork will be completed and panoramic x-rays taken. If a current panoramic x-ray has been taken by the general dentist, please have it forwarded to our office before your consultation date. We will call your dentist after you schedule your new patient appointment to obtain any current necessary records, however it can never hurt to have an extra follow-up!

Dr. Perlitsh will proceed with your orthodontic exam including dental, skeletal and TMJ evaluations. Further records will be taken or a Records appointment can be scheduled.

Following the Records appointment we will review the findings and explain our recommendations for your treatment. We encourage questions during this process and want to provide you with as much information as possible to help you make informed decisions regarding your orthodontic health. The treatment plan is sent to your general dentist, patient and parents of minor patients.

Financial costs will be reviewed and our staff will provide you with payment options. Prior to leaving this appointment we will schedule an appointment to start your orthodontic treatment.
